Summary

fountain.plus is the home page for Fountain+ — a suite of screenplay formatting tools for Google Docs. The suite includes two products: Fountain+ Exporter (a Google Workspace add-on) and Fountain+ Studio (a Chrome Extension).

This policy explains what data each product and the fountain.plus website store on your device, and how you can control it.

Fountain+ (also known as Fountain-Plus and Fountain Plus) is part of the Script 2 Storyboard suite of tools, developed by Absolutely Skint (Pistol Taeja).

Fountain+ Exporter (Google Workspace Add-on)

The Fountain+ Exporter runs within Google Docs and processes your document text locally in your browser for export.

• The Exporter does not use localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB, cookies, or any local storage mechanism on your device.
• All document processing occurs in browser memory during the active export session and is discarded when the export dialog closes.
• The Exporter does not cache, persist, or store any of your document content — locally or remotely.

Fountain+ Studio (Chrome Extension)

Fountain+ Studio opens a Side Panel alongside Google Docs for live screenplay preview, analysis, and export.

What Fountain+ Studio stores

• chrome.storage.local — stores user preferences only (theme, font size, Side Panel layout). No document content is stored.
• Document data is held in browser memory during the active session and discarded when you close the tab or Side Panel. It is never persisted to disk.

What Fountain+ Studio does NOT store

• No cookies
• No localStorage or sessionStorage data
• No IndexedDB databases
• No service worker caches (the extension's background service worker does not cache data)
• No document content is ever persisted locally or remotely

How to clear stored data

You can clear Fountain+ Studio's stored preferences by removing the extension or by clearing its data in your Chrome settings (chrome://extensions → Fountain+ Studio → Details → Clear data).

What We Do NOT Store (either product)

• No document content
• No account data (there are no Fountain+ accounts)
• No personal information (names, email addresses, phone numbers, payment information)
• No browsing history

The only local data created by any Fountain+ product is Fountain+ Studio's user preferences in chrome.storage.local.

Google Analytics Cookies

Google Analytics places cookies on your device to distinguish unique visitors and track anonymous usage patterns. These cookies are the only data stored locally by fountain.plus.

Cookies used

• _ga — Distinguishes unique visitors. Expires after 2 years.
• _ga_* — Maintains session state. Expires after 2 years.

These cookies contain randomly generated IDs. They do not contain your name, email, or any personal information.

How to Control Cookies

You can manage or block cookies at any time:

• Browser settings: Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Check your browser's privacy or cookie settings.
• Google Analytics opt-out: Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to prevent Google Analytics from collecting data.
• Private browsing: Use your browser's incognito or private mode to prevent cookies from persisting.

No Other Tracking

fountain.plus does not use any tracking technology beyond Google Analytics. There are no advertising pixels, no social media trackers, no fingerprinting, and no third-party analytics services other than Google Analytics.

Changes to This Policy

If we add any new local data storage in the future, this policy will be updated with details. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
